For the past few years, I've been using Apple's Voice Memo app and ended up with over a hundred audio recordings. The main issue was figuring out what was in these recordings and how to organize them. Their titles, usually just dates or locations, didn't help much in understanding their content. The most practical solution seemed to be converting these audio files into text.

Finding an efficient way to do this wasn't easy. Many online tools for voice-to-text conversion either had complicated processes or limitations. For example, some would only allow a few free conversions before starting to charge, and others had restrictions on the length of the audio file, like only handling recordings up to around 15 minutes or so.

So, I decided to develop VOMO myself.

VOMO simplifies the conversion of voice memos to text. It's as easy as choosing an audio clip in the Apple Voice Memo app, sharing it with VOMO, and letting the app do its job. VOMO uses technology that supports multiple languages with pretty good accuracy. It can also format the text and recognize different speakers automatically.

A feature of VOMO that I find quite useful is the ability to batch import voice memos. This means you can take, say, 100 recordings from your Voice Memo app and convert them all at once. As of now, VOMO offers all these services for free, since we haven't added a payment feature yet. The convenience and accuracy it offers are something I'm proud of. That's how I managed to convert all my voice memos into text.

Another nice thing about VOMO is that it's interactive. It's a bit like having a conversation with ChatGPT. You can ask it to summarize information, pull out key points from your recordings, and more. It opens up a lot of possibilities. So, if you've got a bunch of audio files in your Voice Memo app and want to see what VOMO can do, I'd suggest giving it a try.
